Designed by Vallance & Westwick of Mansfield

Brief History

12 Leeming Street was built in 1901 and designed by Vallance & Westwick along with its neighbours, 14 and 16 Leeming Street. Vallance & Westwick were Mansfield-based architects who also designed the Strand cinema in Warsop.

During the early years of its existence, 12 Leeming Street was a Dunns boot shop.

The Olive Tree is a cosy café and restaurant with popular all-day breakfasts, which has been at the site since 2012.

Condition

The building is in fair condition, but the dominant shopfront fills the deep fascia.

Suggested Works

Explore the possibilities for the original shopfront and reinstate a more sympathetic design.
