Brief History

10-12 Stockwell Gate was built in the early 19th century and is Grade II listed. In the 20th Century, Studio Ten was photographer, Stanley Burgin’s business.

Current Condition

The three-storey building has painted brickwork on the upper storeys and two late 20th-century shop fronts. The building has attractive upper floors and shop fronts but is in poor condition and the internal metal grilles on number 10 detract from its overall appearance.

Suggested Works

Explore evidence for original shopfront and reinstate if possible. Replace sash windows, remove paint from brickwork, repair gutter, remove UPVC bottom section from the downpipe and replace with cast iron.
