The first coffee house in England opened in Oxford in 1652. It was called The Angel.

Brief History

It was built in the 19th century and was occupied by Lloyds Bank until recently.

Current Condition

2-8 Stockwell Gate is a three-storey building with painted brickwork and plain sash windows on the first and second floors. The building is in fair condition and has been recently refurbished internally.
