Merry-go-round Memory

I remember as a child, watching the merry-go-round on the market place. I think it used to be up near the Town Hall area. I don’t remember too much about the different vehicles on the roundabout but I think there was a fire engine, with an upstairs. It definitely played music as it went around.

I did go on it but not very often. I don’t think we had much money to spare! I also remember having peas and mint sauce from a stall nearby. This would have been in the 1970s.
